Feature on The Wedding Row!
I love this city I live in! I love being in the heart of the South, in a city not-too-small, but most importantly, not-too-big. I love being on the coast, the kind of coast that you travel 3 miles inland and you find yourself at a 250 year old plantation! I love that this not-too-small-big-city has so much that larger cities have to offer – an amazing art scene, phenomenal food, our very own fashion week, and an amazing wedding industry! And within that industry we have some incredible publications, both print and online! Today I’m pleased as punch to be featured on Charleston’s premier wedding blog, The Wedding Row. Thanks Della for what you do! The Wedding Row is an amazing resource, and I’m so happy to see Lane and Jonathan’s engagement photos featured!
Sweet Love
Don’t you just love summer! It brings out the sweetest in everyone! I had such a great time with Fall bride and groom, Lane and Jonathan, on our vintage-picnic-inspired engagement shoot! We did the whole shoot on Daniel Island where I live so scouted out the perfect picnic location earlier in the week! Land & Jonathan you were such troupers dealing with the heat and bugs! I had a blast!

Sneak Peak!
I’m heading out to the Inn at Bray’s Island for a lovely wedding this weekend. But before I leave I wanted to drop a quick teaser shot from the gorgeous engagement session I’ve been working on this week! I look forward to sharing more!
engagement session ~ Julie + Zac
I met up with Fall bride and groom, Julie and Zac for a fun-filled e-session downtown Charleston. We started the shoot at The William Aiken House where the two will have their reception in October. I love every tiny space within this gorgeous historic home – every room and window treatment, veranda and garden nook is amazing! We then headed around town a bit and ended the evening down by the the South Carolina Aquarium.
Puppy love
After months and months of not posting images from my weddings or shoots, I’m finally finding a little time to sit down and post! I have so much I want to share and far too little time to do it before Spring weddings fire up. So until then I’m randomly pulling favorites off the hard-drives and posting them here. This just happens to be some favorite shots from my most recent shoot – an engagement session on Isle of Palms with Angela and Will – the cutest sweetest couple in the whole world! I had such a great time with you guys and your dear sweet Shih Tzu!

You Tube Engagement Session
I loved seeing what Perry and Shawn did with their engagement portraits we shot downtown Charleston! Check out their lovely YouTube video. What fun!

Debbie + Clay e-session
Ahhhh… this time of year is always so refreshing! I love being able to get back out on the beach for shoots! Especially with a couple as lovely as this! This time I met up with September bride and groom, Debbie and Clay. We had such a great time shooting till after dark on Sullivan’s Island. Some of my favorite shots were with a giant frieghter cruising up the channel in the background! Keep an eye out this fall for Debbie and Clay’s Pawley’s Island wedding! I can’t wait!

Just heard this from Debbie:
Kristen + Latif e-session
Do you ever see a couple and think “Oh my, those are going to be some GORGEOUS children!” Kristen and Latif are that couple! I loved shooting their engagement photos this past Monday! Poor things, I kept them on that chilly beach till after dark (you’re a champ, Kristen!) We met up at Fort Moultrie on Sullivan’s Island – at first sight, it doesn’t look like a great spot for photos, but it’s truly a perfect backdrop! I loved the brick wall and grassy field right behind the fort, and of course, the beach. Here are just a few of my favorites!

Just heard this from Kristen:
“Heather, the pictures are AMAZING! I love, love, love them! I’ve been looking at them and found so many great ones — standing out in the cold was well worth it. We had such a great time with you and I’m so happy that you’ll be taking our wedding pictures.”
E-session with Kristina & Chris
I met up with April bride and groom, Kristina and Chris, for an engagement session this past week. We did the shoot at Chris’ parents home in Hollywood, SC. It was absolutely beautiful out there. I loved this field shot I got with Kristina looking perfectly-paired with the country side in her dress and cowgirl boots! Kristina is planning a gorgeous wedding with Luke of Fleur, Luke Wilson Special Events. I’m looking forward to it!

Here’s the custom event card I’ve designed to match Kristina & Chris’ wedding paper:
