About
Heather’s interest in photography began at an early age. “I built my first camera out of legos. By the time I had my first real camera I had my friends posing for me.” Heather graduated summa cum laude from the College of Charleston with degrees in both Art History and Studio Art. Now, a Charleston-based commercial photographer, Heather still delights in creating fine-art works. She’s been in numerous group exhibits including Picollo Spoleto, where she was awarded honorable mention in 2005.
Heather’s commercial interests began as an assistant wedding photographer. “I immediately loved it. Within a year I was taking my own jobs. I love the traditions that surround weddings. I love the ephemeral quality of the day, and that is where my photography comes in. I love being able to capture the moments, the emotions, and the atmosphere of a day that passes so quickly, yet is remembered for so long.” Heather’s unobtrusive, documentary approach to photography lends itself to creating naturally candid and unique photos. “I don’t want any two clients’ albums to look alike. I want to give each client work that speaks of them and their character.” Heather’s work has appeared in such publications as Women’s Wear Daily, Charleston Weddings and Lucky Magazine. Read an interview with Heather titled “How to Choose a Photographer: Inside the Artist’s Mind”.
